In 2015, Nita was a retired professional athlete and single mother of three navigating one of the hardest seasons of her life. On a walk through her Van Nuys neighborhood, a thought arrived that she couldn’t shake: make a jumpsuit.
She didn’t know how to sew. She had no fashion background. She had no investors and no manufacturing connections. What she had was a problem every woman who has ever worn a jumpsuit already knows — and the athlete’s refusal to accept that it couldn’t be solved.
She spent six months working with a local Los Angeles seamstress to develop the first OnTheMarq DropCut™ prototype. The design: a rear drop-access panel built into the jumpsuit’s construction that allows the wearer to use the restroom without removing the garment — the world’s first bathroom friendly jumpsuit. After two years of development and refinement, she founded OnTheMarq, LLC in 2017 and brought the original DropCut™ bathroom friendly jumpsuit to market — selling the first ones from the hatchback of her car, in gym locker rooms and restaurant bathrooms, one woman at a time.

Nita didn’t build OnTheMarq’s DropCut™ from a position of strength. She built it from the floor.
She was a former champion athlete who had lost her marriage, her career, and her footing — all at the same time. She was raising three children alone, with no child support and no safety net. She was in therapy, learning for the first time what it meant to feel her own pain instead of running from it. She was a biofeedback expert in the making — using brain science to understand the amygdala patterns that had driven every choice she had ever made.
